Description

Characterised by a sense of belonging with nature, the Gondi tribe in Madhya Pradesh created these bold, vibrantly coloured paintings, depicting mainly flora and fauna. Initially they used natural colors made through charcoal, cow dung, leaves and coloured soil. If you look closely, it is made up of dots and lines. Today, these styles are imitated with fabric paint. Gond art comes with the belief that a good image brings good luck.  Today, Gond art products such as Gond painting on wood, painted wooden trays and boxes have gained global recognition for lending spectacular vision to art lovers.
