Sheikh Moidun Nilufar

Hi. My Name is Sheikh Moidun Nilufar. My date of birth- 02/03/1986 I m a freelance Textile Designer. I have completed my textile course from IIHT, Guwahati on 2007 and also done Fashion designing under UGC. I have worked as a designer in many clusters of Assam under DC Handloom office, Artfed, WSC and IIE. I have also worked as a project officer of North East under National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad since 2012 to 2019 and where I got the opportunity to worked with various designers from NID in Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Arunachal and Sikkim in various craft. On 2019 I have started my own brand "Weave India" With a variety of handloom products like Pure cotton kurtis, Salwaar suit, dupatta, stole, saree for Women and Shirt and kurta for Men. During the knockdown I came back to my home town and found and a raw material called murta plant which looks like bamboo and has very good potential. So, I started working with the artisans of the cluster and develop products some products like planters, placemats etc. Then gradually I have started more research and develop variety of products like coasters, laundry baskets, light shade, fruit baskets and hand bags. When the single use plastic was band, I thought to develop a shopping bag that will be natural, sustainable eco friendly and stylish. So I worked with the artisans and develop colorful utility bags that can hold atleast 5 kg weight. By the bless of God, people like my designs and I start marketing my products through what's up, Instagram, Facebook and linked and supply Pan India. Many exporters showed interested in my products and got lot of samples from me. I have Customers from Channai, Banglore, Orisa, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, kolkata, kerela, Bihar etc Some of the exporters also send my products to US, Canada and Germany.
